CNA Certification

Would you like a career which involves caring for people, and get a great salary while doing it?. If so, you should consider becoming a certified nursing assistant. After successfuly completing one of the various state CNA Training Programs, you will proudly be able to use your CNA Certification to get the job you’ve always wanted. Certified Nursing Assistants are always in demand, as it’s an ever growing profession in which carers will always be needed to look after people. After gaining your cna certification, you’ll be able to apply to various different Nursing Homes, Hospitals, Care Homes and private homes (home health aide) for a job.

In order to prove to your employer that you can infact do the job, you WILL need you’re cna certificate. Infact, it’s a legal requirement, and you’ll need a certificate for whichever state you work in. It should be noted, that if you gain your certification in Arizona for instance, and then decide to work in NY, then you can take a ‘fast track’ course in NY which will basically get you up to speed on that specific states requirements. Theres no need to redo the entire cna training program for each state, so don’t worry about that, it’s just a case of topping up your current certificate to make it legal for you to work in that state.

Most people however will likely stay and work in the same State for long periods of time. As you get to know your patients and workplace, it’s common to become ‘one of the family’, and many people will want to stay right where they are. Of course, life sometimes doesn’t work out that way, but at least you know that should you decide to move, it’s not hard to make your current certificate legal in order for you to keep working.

CNA Classes, And What To Expect

CNA Certification

Your CNA Training will take you around 3 months to complete, and will culminate with an exam at the end. Your CNA Classes will contain about 50 hours of theory, and around 100 hours practical. Your practical training will teach you virtually everything you’ll need to know about actually doing the job, and the theory will teach you ‘why’ you need to know these things. It’s self explanitory really.  The CNA exam itself is also divided into theory and practise sections, and although it may seem a little daunting at first, by the time you actually get to the exam you should know pretty much everything off by heart.

There are plenty of opportunities to do some practise exams via online cna training, and of course you’re specific training school may provide you with mock exams for you to do as well. The CNA training materials you will recieve from your class will be very thorough and extensive, so you should never be left guessing if you have a question, and of course your tutor will always be there to help.

It’s also worth remembering, if you fail your exam, you can take it again. You shouldn’t pressure yourself into passing first time as this will just cause you to become more anxious about it.

In essence, the cna course is basically there to do a couple of things. First, it gives you a good amount of practise and theory knowledge to make you more desirable to employers, and secondly it lets you network and work alongside medical staff who are already doing the job you want to do. Your CNA Certification will no doubt give you the edge when applying for ANY medical job, so the skills you learn can also help you in other fields, and not exclusively being a nursing assistant.

A final point to remember, is that most cna training schools are certified to give you training, but it’s worth checking that out before you enroll!. If the school isn’t certified, then your cna certificate might not be valid and all that training could be for nothing. Make sure you enroll in a certified, recognised cna school!.
