CNA Certification Exam comprises of 2 parts, a written exam and a practical exam. The practical exam is an assesment of your skills, where the examiner will test your ability to perform specific tasks. The examiner will also be looking to see how confident you are, and how much attention to detail you pay to each situation you are presented with.
Doing a ‘mock test’ and some sample test questions can make a lot of difference to the outcome of the actual CNA exam, and the best way to pass an exam is to first know what you are doing, and secondly know why you are doing it. Doing as much mock tests and sample questions as possible is highly recommended, as its one of the best ways to improve your chances of passing the test of the first attempt.
The first section of the CNA exam is the written examination, which comprises of 70 miltiple choice questions. 10 of these questions are what is called ‘pre-test’ questions, they are not scored and are only there to gain statistical information.
This is then followed by the oral exam, which comprises of 60 multiple choice questions, and 10 reading comprehension questions.
The second part of the exam is the Skills Evaluation test. You will be asked to perform 5 nurse’s aide skills (selected at random) which is rated by a nurse evaluator, in order to acheive NNAAP Certification you’ll need to successfully perform all 5 skills to the required level.
